My Letter
Dear Brian and Reed:
All candidates for Columbia City Council District 3 have called for greater transparency in the city's financial affairs. I believe we should practice what we preach by placing on line now on our campaign websites complete information regarding all donations received by our campaigns. This includes the identity of donors, the amount of all donations and the occupation of each donor. This information is presently not available on line.
I have now placed on my campaign website the name of every donor to my campaign through the last quarterly report, along with the amount of the donation and the occupation of the donor. I will supplement this information at the time I file the next pre-election campaign report on March 15, 2008 and update daily my financial disclosure during the last 15 days preceding the election on April 1.
I am writing to urge that you follow my lead and place your full donor information on your campaign website, update all subsequent pre-election filings and provide daily reports of donations during the last 15 days before the election. The voters of District 3 deserve nothing less.
